What Plainly does

The visit, from your records

Once Triangle's network requests come back, you can see what was done at a visit and on what date, in plain language. Records you already have can be added too.

Your bill, talked through

Upload a bill or explanation of benefits as a PDF or photo, then ask what any line, code or term means. The chat answers from your records and the document you uploaded.

Questions to bring

Leave with a short list of things to ask the billing office or your insurer, written from your records and the bill. The call then starts with specifics.

Ready for the next bill

Your history updates as new records arrive. When the next statement comes, the visit behind it may already be in your records.

What makes Plainly different

Paid for by members only

No hospital, lab or drug maker pays Triangle, the company that makes Plainly. The only people paying are members.

The statement next to the visit

A single hospital's portal can show that hospital's statement. With Plainly, you ask about the statement in a chat that also knows your records of the visit.

What the code can't tell you

A general assistant like ChatGPT, Claude or Grok can explain what a billing code usually means, but without your records it can't tell you what happened at your visit. Plainly's chat answers from your records and the bill you upload.

Clear about what it doesn't do

Plainly doesn't pull in your bills, check them for errors, negotiate, dispute or pick an insurance plan. It helps you understand what you're looking at and what to ask.

Who uses Plainly

The team behind Plainly

Triangle (Triangle Health, Inc.) makes Plainly in Pasadena, California; its money comes from members and from a pre-seed round of $4 million, announced in March 2026, never from hospitals. Its CEO, Arun Verma, started it together with Jonathan Grubb and Justin Balthrop once a 2023 brain tumor diagnosis had him working through his own records and research by hand. Plainly points that work at the records behind a bill, for anyone who wants to know what they're paying for.

About Triangle

How Plainly works

  1. Line 1: the trial

Open the 7-day free trial with Triangle, then pick whose paperwork Plainly will hold: yours, or a relative's you help with.

  2. Line 2: identity and consent

An identity and address check comes first, then the consent forms Triangle needs to request records for you, then an intake visit with a clinician.

  3. Line 3: your records

Records are requested on your behalf over Carequality and TEFCA, so the visits behind your bills end up on file.

  4. Line 4: the bill, talked through

Add the bill, look through your health topics and medications, ask away, share with whoever helps with paperwork, and link your own assistant if that's useful. Questions about Plainly itself go to Triangle's support inbox, support@trianglehealth.com.

Frequently asked questions

What is Plainly, and whose product is it?

Plainly keeps your medical records in one place and lets you talk a bill through next to them. Triangle makes it, which is why you sign up at app.trianglehealth.com.

What's the total for Plainly?

Itemized: the 7-day free trial costs $0 with a card on file, then $9 a month after that. Cancel any time, including before the trial ends.

Can Plainly give medical advice about the visit?

No. Plainly is educational and research support from Triangle, so diagnosis, treatment and prescriptions sit outside its scope. Decisions about your care stay with you and your clinicians.

Can my own AI assistant see the visits in Plainly?

Yes. In your assistant, paste https://app.trianglehealth.com/mcp into a new MCP connector, then use Triangle's consent screen to choose what it can see. The setup for each one is itemized at trianglehealth.com/agents.

Who sees the bills and records I add to Plainly?

Just the people you've shared your profile with. Plainly is run by Triangle, a HIPAA compliant company that encrypts records in transit and at rest, and bills and records are never sold or shared for advertising.

Can Plainly lower my bill or find mistakes in it?

No. Plainly doesn't audit, negotiate or dispute bills. It talks through the documents you upload, next to your records, so you know what you're looking at and what to ask.

Will it have the records from the place that billed me?

It may not. Some hospitals and clinics can't be reached through Carequality and TEFCA, the networks Triangle uses. Plainly points out gaps in your file and helps you request what's absent, and visit summaries you already hold can be uploaded.

What can I upload?

Bills and explanations of benefits, as PDFs or photos. For medical records, add PDFs, photos of paper records, discs and faxes.
